Clear Lake Historical Association Collection.

Clear Lake Heritage is a project of Washington Rural Heritage, a collection of historically significant materials residing in libraries, heritage institutions, and private collections throughout Washington State. The collection includes photographs, documents, and artifacts which tell the stories of Washington's small and rural communities.

The materials in this collection were digitized in 2013-2014 by the Clear Lake Historical Association (CLCHA), in collaboration with the Sedro-Woolley Public Library. Clear Lake, Washington—a rural community just south of Sedro-Woolley, Washington—was one of the largest towns in Skagit County in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was a major hub of the regional logging industry, and was known as the largest inland lumber port in the Pacific Northwest.

Highlights from the collection include:

If you have comments or additional information about any of the items in this collection, or would like to contribute your own material for digitization, please contact the Clear Lake Historical Association.

About the Clear Lake Historical Association

The Clear Lake Historical Association was formed in 1987 by citizens interested in retaining the unique history of the area. Although Clear Lake's railroad and lumber mill are long gone, many memories remain. The Association now owns and maintains the former I.O.O.F. Hall, one of the first buildings built in town around 1892, and a saloon up until it was purchased by the I.O.O.F. in 1910.
